The C.D.C. has begun publishing data on COVID outcomes among people who have booster shots and the numbers distributed this week by the New York Times are striking.
According to a Times article on Monday, from October to November of 2021 the weekly average number of deaths per 100,000 was 7.8 for the unvaccinated, 0.6 for the vaccinated without a booster and 0.1 for those that had received the booster.
The data underscores both the power of the COVID vaccines and their biggest weakness, namely their gradual fading of effectiveness over time....
