Fire damage box culvert repairs cost more than $25,000

Repairs for box culverts after fire was $25,511.74 The Jewell County Commissioner

The Jewell County Commissioners met, Monday, April 11. Commissioners Steve Greene, Brent Beck and Keith Roe were present. Carla J. Waugh, county clerk, was present for the meeting.

Carla Waugh discussed the transfers suggested by the auditor.

Kevin Peroutek, emergency preparedness director, and Laura Leite, Cottonwood Consulting, reviewed the ARPA application requests. Laura discussed some of the spending guidelines and procedures.

Joel Elkins, general superintendent, said their total cost of repairs for box culverts from the Northbranch Fire was $25,511.74. He said they are working on tube and dirt projects.

Don Jacobs, sheriff, said Officer Brandon Keeker graduated from the KLETC training. Don said he is seeking a dispatcher. The commissioners said they greatly appreciate the time and effort of the Jewell County Dispatchers.
