Superior Council approves Green Digs development plat

Following a public hearing held Monday night, the five members of the Superior City Council present approved the final subdivision plat for a tract of land generally located on the southeast corner of the intersection of 15th and Montana streets and south along Montana Street.

The action was one of several procedural steps before construction can begin on a housing development planned by Green Digs LLC. The developer plans to construct 5 stand-alone houses with walkout basements.

In a related matter, the city staff was authorized to seek the necessary bids for the required street improvements and utility line extensions.

While meeting Monday the council approved the hiring of Zeth Peyton. He will be assigned to the natural gas distribution utility.

In preparation for the Victorian Festival planned for the last weekend in May, the council approved hiring a professional window painter to paint downtown the windows of vacant downtown business buildings. The paintings are to be in keeping with the Victorian style and the history of Superior.


The council also agree to guarantee a commercial loan obtained from a local bank for a new business which plans to open later this year in Superior. Neither the name of the business nor the loan details were divulged in public session.

The council approved a request to limit parking in two stalls in front of the Nuckolls County Food Pantry between the hours of 9 to 5 Monday through Friday.

An application from Rachael Schoenrock to join the Superior Volunteer Fire Department was approved.
