Barbara Grisham

 

Barbara Kay Grisham, the daughter of Raymond and Inez (Harvey) Snavely, was born on April 9, 1940, in Superior, Neb. She died May 4, 2022, at the Superior Good Samaritan Society Home in Superior, at the age of 82 years, and 25 days.

She grew up in Superior where she attended grade school and high school earning her GED. She was a Hastings and Superior Church of the Nazarene member. As a teen she was baptized at the Baptist Church.

On Sept. 15, 1967, Barb married Jim Grisham at the Baptist Church in Superior. To this union a daughter was born. Through previous marriages Barb had three sons and Jim had a son and two daughters.

Barb was a devoted Christian that shared God's love through teaching Sunday School for 16 years along with singing many Christian songs with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed scrapbooking, camping, puzzles, working with all the clients at MNIS and most of all, any moment she could have with all of her family. During her lifetime, she was a member of the Superior's Mother's Club, American Legion Auxiliary, Mrs. Jaycees, Refunders and Teens for Christ. She will be dearly missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Inez Snavely; husband, Jim Grisham; infant brother, Michael Snavely: and sister, Janice Bussard; her in-laws, Claude and Viola Grisham; sister-in-law, Lenora Lundy; son-in-law, Mike Jacoby; granddaughter, Bethany Sailsbury; and great-grandson, Theo Hawkins.

Barb is survived by her children, Kent and wife Nancy Thelander, Hastings; Rod and wife Mary Thelander, Sand Springs, Okla .; Brook and wife Connie Thelander, Eagle, Idaho; Becky Grisham Dessel, Superior; Craig and wife Dixie Grisham, Superior; Marsha Jacoby, Superior; and Kim Tinsley, Superior; 15 grandchildren: Tina, Tonia, Tracy, B.J., Brady, Emily, Davis, Brianna, Bryson, Mark, Michael, Dawn, Jaramie, Christopher, Johnny; 32 great-grandchildren; and many other family and friends.

Her funeral was held at 2 p.m., on Monday, May 9, from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior with Rod and Brook Thelander officiating.

Music was "Thank You," "Wind Beneath my Wings," sung by Alicia Reed and recording of "Something Beautiful."

Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m., on Sunday.

Pallbearers were B.J. Thelander, Brady Thelander, Zach Shonka, Brandon Tester, Mark Hawkins and Troy Hilligas. Honorary pallbearers were Barb's grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Superior.
