James L. “Jim” Rehmert, 89, of Salina, died Thursday. He was born on Nov. 23, 1932, at Asherville, the son of Harry L. and Treca M. (Schaffer) Rehmert. He married Barbara Joan Slate on June 5, 1952, and to this union three children were born.

Jim went to schools in Asherville and Beloit. He served in the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers from 1953 to 1955, serving 18 months in Germany as a corporal running heavy equipment.
