Postage going up for second time in 2022

Faced with the nonstop onslaught on rising production costs, this newspaper will soon be raising advertising rates and the price of single copy newspaper sales.

For example, on Monday postage rates will increase for the second time this year.

The cost of a first class stamp will be increasing from 58 to 60 cents. The cost to mail a copy of this newspaper is expected to increase more than 10 percent. The cost of materials used to produce the paper are also going up. In some cases there have been multiple price increases between orders.

The increases are coming so fast our suppliers have quit providing us with printed price sheets. When bidding a job, we can no longer get a firm materials price from our suppliers. The cost will be whatever is in effect at time of shipment and that may be months, if not a year or more, away.

As subscription rates were raised because of the January postage increase, we are hoping to avoid raising the subscription rate again at this time.

Customers who subscribe to the print edition will continue to receive free access to the newspaper’s electronic edition. Web addresses for the newspapers are superiorne.com, nuckollscountynewspapers.com and jewellcountynewspapers.com.
