Lawrence Community Club competes park improvements

The Nuckolls County Foundation Lawrence Community Fund was awarded an AARP Community Challenge Grant for $3,950 to purchase two park benches and two ADA compliant picnic tables for the swimming pool park.
Last July, the Nuckolls County Foundation's Lawrence Community Fund was awarded an AARP Community Challenge Grant. The grant was for $3,950 to purchase two park benches and two ADA compliant picnic tables for the swimming pool park. The picnic tables are extended on both ends for wheelchair access. The Lawrence Community Club funded the construction of concrete pads for the benches to be attached to and the tables to sit on.
This project was completed last week. This will create a place for people to gather and enjoy the park. The Community Club is grateful for the grant and those who helped with the project.
The Community Club is looking at replacing some worn equipment at the
park as well.
Nationwide, there were 244 projects awarded an AARP Community Challenge Grant with Nebraska having only three of them.
