The Jewell County Cinema, Inc., (JCCI) Board met July 25. The meeting was held by ZOOM and in person at the Mankato Christian Church. Thadd Hinkle called the meeting to order. Members present were Thadd Hinkle, Phyllis Christie, Janis McDill, Lisa Goodheart and Kristin Underwood. Virgil and Linda Jone attended by ZOOM and Abby Elkins was a guest.

Abby Elkins reported on her research about running ads before the movie. She presented three options of how other area theaters do this. The best option for the theater would be to change the businesses $150 once a year for a 30-second ad that would run before each movie showing, with no charge for changes to the ad. Normal sized chocolate bars and the large boxed candy will both continue to sell for $2. An event page on Facebook for the ice cream social on Aug. 20. More volunteers are needed to run the theater.

Thadd Hinkle said the batteries that provide uninterrupted power supply to the projector went bad. Moonlight Workshop was able to fix the problem and will send a bill. Upcoming movies are: Lightyear, Aug. 5 through 7; Paw of Fury, August 26 through 28; Minions, the Rise of Gru, Sept. 2 through 4; Thor, Sept. 11; Where the Crawdads Sing, Sept. 16 through 18; and Super Pets, Sept. 23 through 25.
