Monday the Kansas Department of Transportation will begin a guardrail project on U.S. 81 at various locations between K-148 and the Nebraska-Kansas state line in Republic County.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane at the location where the contractor is actively working. Motorists should expect minor delays.

J & J Contractors Inc. of Iola is the prime contractor for this $250,535 project and has scheduled work to be completed in early October, weather permitting.
