Co-operation creates Saturday Bash in Lawrence

"One Rib at a time . . ." was the answer to the question of one resident who asked how the Community was going to raise funds for a new Community Center. The Community Center Building Committee is renewing its efforts for funds and will expand that effort in the near future.

Saturday Bash in Lawrence

Co-operation and patience came together in Lawrence last Saturday to provide a day of activity and fun for all concerned.

KDʼs shop KDʼs Salon and Floral is a unique business for Lawrence. Not only can a person get hair arranged to their liking, but a large floral selection is available. In addition she offers a wide selection of clothes, and home décor items.

Co-operation . . . because K D's Salon and Floral invited the Lawrence Community Center Building Committee to join her in a day of fun and activity. Most all activity in the morning centered on KD's 7th Anniversary of her business. She invited vendors and others to help her celebrate her seven years of business in Lawrence. She was quite aware of the community's effort to raise funds for a community center and wanted to give them a chance to use this occasion to do so.

The workers on the Community Center Building Committee offered a "Rib-Hamburger" feed in the evening to go along with the street dance KD provided.

We don't have figures, but we know the morning activities were well attended. If you wanted to eat "Ribs" you had to be early as they went fast. If you wanted music and dancing, the music lasted late into the evening and was enjoyed by many.

Patience . . . we understand that KD's first wanted to have a five year 'Bash', but because of the COVID Pandemic it had to be postponed until this year. The building committee, as well, had to postpone activities to raise funds and it appeared all enjoyed a great day.
