The Kansas Department of Transportation approved bids for state highway construction and maintenance projects. The letting took place Aug. 17, in Topeka.

In Jewell County - 36 Highway from the east of Mankato city limits to 4.6 miles east of the east K-14/U.S. 36 junction, milling and overlay, 8.9 miles, Hall Brothers Inc., Marysville, Kan., $2,950,095.05.

In Republic - K-199, from the north Courtland city limits north to the K-199/U.S. 36 junction, milling and overlay, 0.8 mile, Hall Brothers Inc., Marysville, Kan., $254,441.50.
