Janet Kay Knight Hancock, 78, of Moultrie, Ga., formerly of Albany, Ga., died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022, at Pruitt Health.

Her funeral was be held at 2 p.m., on Monday, August 29, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with the Rev. Matt Peek officiating.

Born on May 15, 1944, in Beloit, Kan., she was the daughter of the late James Knight and Elleen Bell Lewis Tegley. Mrs. Hancock graduated from Albany State University with a degree in accounting and retired in 2006 from the Dougherty County Tax Assessor's Office with more than 30 years. She was of the Methodist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Julianna Morris; and brother, Richard Tegley.

Mrs. Hancock is survived by her husband, Gary Hancock of Moultrie; son, David Israel Hancock and wife, Kim of Doerun, Ga .; daughter, Tirzah Hancock Morris of Moultrie; sister, Fordyce Parsons of Kent, Washington; grandchildren, Samantha Kressin, Jody Morris, Zachery Hancock and Jacob Hancock; great-grandchildren, Mason Kressin and Lucy Hancock.
