L-N football shuts out Blue Hill

The Lawrence-Nelson High School football team made it look easy Friday as they cruised to a 44-0 shut out over the Blue Hill Bobcats at Lawrence.

The offense was firing on all cylinders as Krayton Kucera picked apart the Bobcat defense. The Raiders scored with two passing touchdowns and three on the ground. The defense hampered any Blue Hill effort at momentum and controlled the field.

Krayton Kucera completed 10 of his 15 pass attempts for 146 yards and two touchdowns. Carter Griffis competed one pass for two yards.

Tyson Kotinek reeled in five passes for 63 yards and two touchdowns. Bayln Bargen nabbed two receptions for 46 yards. Toby Kotinek snagged two passes for 19 yards. Erik Wheeland picked up 18 yards with his lone reception. Aidan Zikmund had a reception for two yards.

Kucera kept the ball 14 times to cover 80 yards. He scored two touchdowns. Toby Kotinek covered 83 yards with his nine carries. He scored a touchdown. Bargen picked up 28 yards with his two carries. Conner Janda netted 20 yards on two carries. Cody Funk scampered for 34 yards A. Zikmund picked up two yards with his single carry.

Janda anchored the defense with five solo tackles and three assisted tackles. Devyn Zikmund nailed three solo tackles and three assisted tackles. AJ Koehler posted three solo tackles. Keaton Mazour landed two solo tackles and three assists. Bargen and Clay Williams listed two solo tackles and an assisted tackle each. Roy Davidson handled a solo tackle and three assists. Sawyer Cox and Kucera accounted for a solo tackle and an assisted tackle apiece. Wyatt Hajny and Tyson Kotinek grabbed a solo tackle and had two assisted tackles each. Kucera intercepted a Bobcat pass. Riley Cannaday, Griffis and A. Zikmund each recorded an assisted tackle.

Lawrence-Nelson plays Axtell, Friday, before the homecoming audience at Lawrence. The Raiders will be looking for their third consecutive win. Kick off is set for 7 p.m.
