After 30 years, Frasier retires from USPS

October 13, 2022

After a little more than 30 years, Wanda Frasier retired from the United States Postal Service effective Sept. 30. Frasier was hired in 1992 as a postmaster relief for the office in Burr Oak where she resides. She worked in the PMR position from 1992 until 2003 when she was selected as the postmaster for Burr Oak.

She served as postmaster in Burr Oak from 2003 until 2014 when the post plan program changed the hours of the smaller offices to less than full days. At that point, in October 2014, Wanda was selected as the postmaster at Downs. She served at Downs for eight years, October 2014 to September 30, 2022. On Friday, Sept. 30, a reception in her honor was held from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., at Downs post office.

Frasier has plans to have more time with her grandchildren as well as traveling, taking some college classes on line and learning to swim! Frasier notes, “It’s a small bucket list!”

Wanda was married to the late Douglas Frasier for more than 41 years and has four sons and eight grandchildren.
