"Alumni and Friends" Challenge Match to conclude later this Month

October 13, 2022

The Superior Auditorium challenge issued by Superior alumnus, Julie (Hill) Allison has been ongoing since late May and will be wrapping up the end of October. As a reminder, the challenge was to raise $30,000 locally to receive an equal amount offered by Ms. Allison. Contacts have been made locally as well as by reaching out to Superior alumni across the region and have pushed the total raised to close to $25,000.

“We are close to reaching our goal and would appreciate local businesses as well as alumni near and far to push us over the top. The incredible support shown by the community and alums have been the key to making the renovation and reopening of the auditorium-community center a reality,” commented Sonia Schmidt, member of the auditorium committee. We are so grateful to Julie for choosing to ‘give back to her home community’ in such a generous way,” Sonia continued.

The building has become an active place, especially with the addition of the heating and cooling system. It’s now the location of a walking club, Tai Chi classes, dance instruction and events like the Harvest Moon Gala, hosted by Brodstone Healthcare this week among many other community events. More things are in the plans with some exciting new events in the future.

The committee is continuing to make contacts to raise remaining funds toward the match. To join the effort, send a donation to the Superior Auditorium, PO Box 96, Superior Neb. Donations are tax deductible due to the auditorium having a 501C3 designation.
