Commissioners hear 2021 ratio study and mid-year 2022 preliminary results

The Jewell County Commissioners met Sept. 19, with commissioners Steve Greene, Brent Beck and Keith Roe, and Carla J. Waugh, county clerk, were present.

Waugh discussed the property schedule for the KCAMP renewal.

Don Jacobs, sheriff, discussed the service agreement for the Sharp copier. The commissioners agreed to sign the service agreement. Jacobs discussed personnel training.

Anna Porter, county appraiser, reviewed the 2021 ratio study results and the mid-year 2022 preliminary results, as provided by the Kansas Department of Property Valuation. She also discussed the advantages and disadvantages of participating in a multi-county commercial depreciation study.

Joel Elkins, general superintendent, discussed maintenance projects. The commissioners discussed diesel fuel contracts.

Commissioners Greene and Beck along with County Clerk Waugh attended the multi-county meeting hosted by Mitchell County at the Porter House, Beloit. Smith and Osborne counties joined the meeting too. Phil Murrow, sanitarian, provided a financial update. The group discussed vacation hours for EMS department, ACH Deposits and RNR rules and regulations. The next meeting will be hosted by Osborne County.
