The Red Cross Blood Mobile will be in Nelson, Friday Nov. 4, at the City Auditorium from 9 to 3 p.m.
Regular whole blood donors can donate every eight weeks, and it will be exactly eight weeks since they were last in Nelson on Sept. 9. Power Red Donors can donate every 16 weeks. They were in Nelson on July 11, which makes them eligible also.
There’s always an urgent need for more blood donations. Sixteen year olds can start their journey with parental consent and you’re never too old, as long as you are in good health. We’re always looking for more donors.
If you have any questions about your eligibility because of health or travel, you can call the Red Cross, 866-236-3276, and talk to a knowledgeable person.
It is strongly recommended to have an appointment, so you can schedule online at www.redcrossblood.org or call 800-733-2767, or call Sally Uhrmacher at 402-225-4292 or text 402-621-0434 for assistance.
Walk-ins will be taken, but may have to wait a while, since those with appointments take priority.
