We have been unable to obtain an official accident report but one Jewell County resident is dead and another hospitalized in Kearney following a two-vehicle accident which happened Friday at a Highway 128 intersection near the Kyle Railroad crossing south of Burr Oak.

A 24-year-old Mankato resident, Jacob Nance, died at the accident scene.

A Burr Oak resident, Dan Garman, was flown to a Kearney hospital where he apparently is being treated for multiple injuries including head trauma and was placed in an induced coma.
