A few of the volunteers who helped serve dinner at Friday's event Dueling Pianos were Will Dougherty, Teraesa Bruce, Carol Shaw and Connie Porter.

The Nelson Community Club and the Elk Creek Country Club hosted dinner and entertainment Friday evening at the Nelson Auditorium. Steak, cheesy potatoes and green beans were served. The Elk Creek Country Club prepared the meal and hosted the bar.

Entertainment for the evening was provided by sponsors of the Community Club. Fun Pianos from the Loup City area entertained the crowd after dinner. Dueling pianos is a form of entertainment, usually on stage with two grand pianos, each played by a professional player who sings and entertains. Humor and audience participation are prevalent. Songs performed are typically rock and roll, classic rock, Top 40, R&B, or country and are played primarily by request.

The event took in a total of $23,500, before the cost of expenses, for the two clubs. Attendance for the event was around 250 people.
