Veterans Day at L-N

November 17, 2022

The Lawerence-Nelson High School seniors were in charge of the Veteran's Day ceremony at the school on Thursday morning. Some featured events included Kay Theer, who along with five L-N middle school girls, sewed two quilts of honor for Dick and Marge Kotmetscher in recognition of their military service.

Veterans Roger Williams and Lyle Kohmetscher relate their experience to a younger generation on Veterans Day; (back row) Wesley Herz, Brantley Buescher, (front row) Layla Fox and Know Schroer.

Senior, Thomas Safago, shared his thoughts on Veteran's Day and how the service of two of his brothers has impacted his life.

Four seniors, Keaton Mazour, Will Dougherty, Chad Holcomb and Wyatt Hajny all used the laser machine from the L-N shop to do woodworking in honor of all the veterans. The class as a whole picked one word that described their feelings towards November 11, and read a short piece on how that word applied to the veterans.

Erik Wheeland and Tyson Kotinek shared their experiences at both Boy's State and Junior Law Cadet which is sponsored by the American Legion. The audience was larger than in prior years but more attendance is something the school would like to see in the future.
