High COVID levels in area prompt MLH visitor policy change

December 1, 2022

Because of high community transmission levels of COVID-19, Mary Lanning Healthcare is changing its visitor policies to meet with Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines.

The South Heartland District Health Department on Friday released the new transmission levels. Because levels in Adams County went from the “substantial” to “high,” MLH is requiring all visitors to wear masks in all settings while at the hospital. All staff are required to wear masks in public and patient facing areas. Unvaccinated staff members will be required to wear masks at all times.

MLH will go back to lesser restrictions when community transmission rates decline, as recommended by the CDC.
