Ramona V. Thayer, the daughter of Herman and Elta (Oestmann) Bohling, was born on Jan. 1, 1941, at her grandpa's home east of Byron, Nebraska. She died on Dec. 11, 2022, at the Parkview Haven Nursing Home at Deshler, at the age of 81 years, 11 months, 10 days.

The family moved to a farm between Chester and Hebron where she attended Stoddard country school. The family moved near Ruskin in 1955 where she attended and graduated from Ruskin High School.
