The ending of Leota Clawson's time on earth with her friends and family came to a close on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2022, at the Nicol Home in Glasco, where she had resided the past several months. She was 90 years old at her death.

Leota was born in the family home in Jewell County on Christmas Eve in 1931. She was the daughter of Loren and Doris Mahin.

Leota lived a full life mostly all in the Jewell and Mitchell counties.

She had three siblings, Beverly Elliot, Susan Hinkhouse and Richard (Jay) Mahin all whom she kept in close contact with throughout the years.
