Commissioners Steve Greene, Keith Roe and Brent Beck, and Carla Waugh, county clerk, were present for the Dec. 12, Jewell County commissioners meeting.

The commissioners accepted Lila Frost’s resignation from the Jewell County Hospital Board effective Dec. 31, 2022.

Carla Waugh reviewed changes to the Jewell County Handbook. The commissioners approved changes to page 37 and page 55 of the handbook.

Commissioners approved the re-appointment of Karen Boden to the Pawnee Mental Health Services Governing Board of Directors.

Joel Elkins, general superintendent, discussed maintenance. The commissioners approved the agreement with Professional Engineering Consultants, P.A. for designing improvements and performing the projects.

Shannon Meier, ambulance director, reviewed the monthly activity and billing reports for November.

After the meeting was adjourned, the commissioners and county clerk left to attend the Multi-County meeting hosted by Osborne County. The group discussed ARPA funding, NBHD Revitalization Plan renewals and employee pay raises and employee retention. Phil Murrow, sanitarian, said there are several changes in KDHE regulations in the next two years along with new laws for sewer and waste. The next meeting will be hosted by Smith County.
