Dorothy Arlene Sandell, 93, daughter of Elmer Danielson and Ida (Sundgren) Danielson was born Aug. 20, 1929, Scandia, and died on Dec. 27, at the Belleville Health Care Center, Belleville.
Dorothy graduated from Scandia High School. She was united in marriage to Charles “Pat” Sandell on Jan. 15, 1946, in a double ring ceremony with Pat’s brother Harlan and Veda at the Methodist parsonage in Scandia.
Dorothy was employed at the Scandia State Bank for many years and later as a morning cook at the Kaffee Haus in Scandia. She was a member of the Scandia United Methodist Church and UMW.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Ida Danielson; husband, Pat Sandell; son-in-law, Larry Olsen; daughter-in-law, Shirley Sandell; one brother, Kenneth Danielson, and his wife, Irene.
She is survived by one son, Dan Sandell and Beckey of Daykin; one daughter, Lola Olsen of Scandia; six grandchildren, Emily (Clair) Hoesing of Beatrice, Anne (Jim) Simms of Daykin, Kenny (Tessa) Sandell of Harvard, Lana (Randy) Thayer of Scandia, Stacey (Bruce) Runft of Scandia; Ryan Olsen of Shenyang, China; 15 great- grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Her funeral was held at 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 30, at the United Methodist Church, Scandia, conducted by, Pastor Kathy Aeillo.
Interment was in Riverview Cemetery, Scandia.
Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Scandia, was in charge of arrangements.
