Antoinette Sue Petersen, 67, died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2023, at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings.

Her funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Juniata with Pastor Kathy Uldrich officiating. Burial will be in the Blue Valley Cemetery near Ayr. Visitation will be 1 to 7 p.m. with family present 5 to 7 p.m. today (Thursday) at the funeral home and one hour before the service at the church.

Antoinette was born March 22, 1955, in Hastings, to Robert and Shirley (Lantis) Lorence. She attended Esbon Elementary School until sixth grade. Her family moved to Hastings in 1965. She graduated from Hastings High School in 1973. Antoinette married Dale "Pete" Petersen on June 24, 1989, at Hastings.

Antoinette worked for Hastings Regional Center in the recreation and activities department. Later on, she worked at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital as a secretary on the subacute floor. Antoinette also worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a substitute carrier. She was a member of Juniata United Methodist Church. Antoinette enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading and time with her grandchildren. She liked going to breakfast with her mom.

Antoinette was preceded in death by her father, Robert Lorence; a brother, Charles Lorence; and a nephew, Maury Lorence.

Survivors include her husband, Dale Petersen, Hastings; children, Amber Harris, Anchorage, Alaska, Shelby Petersen and Dustin Ginn, Trumbull; grandchildren, Alex, Landyn and Abell; her mother, Shirley Lorence, Hastings; siblings and spouse, Robert and RaeAnn Lorence, Lincoln, Nebraska; a sister-in-law, Sally Lorence, Trumbull, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home & Cremation Center is handling the funeral arrangements.
