The funeral for Bertha E. Hofstetter Kathman was held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lawrence on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023. Offering the Mass were Pastor Father Jamie Hottovy and Father Jeremy Hazuka as con-celebrants.
Assisting with the service were: Doug Hubl, acolyte; Lyle Kohmetscher, lector; Kyle Hubl and Conner Janda, servers; Christy Kirschner, organist; Makenzie Hinrichs, Gina Engelhardt, Shane Faimon and Mitzi Taylor as song leader.
Mrs. Kathman was born May 13, 1935, and died Dec. 28, 2022. Her granddaughters were gift bearers for the Mass.
Pallbearers were: Doug Hubl, Mitch Kathman, Josh Hinrichs, Nick Hinrichs, Joe Kathman, Jeff Kathman, Jacob Kathman, Seth Kathman, Lane Kathman, Brandon Faimon, Nathan Faimon, Shane Faimon and Luke Faimon.
Interment was in the St. Stephen parish cemetery south of Lawrence.
