The Nuckolls County Board of Commissioners met at the county courthouse in Nelson Tuesday. The meeting was held Tuesday because of the Monday holiday.

The board attended to routine business approving claims.

Susan Rogers, county assessor, and Royce Gonzales, district court clerk, were appointed as the Nuckolls County 2023 budget authority.

The mileage rate for county employees using their own vehicles was set at $.65.

Nick Elledge presented the board with options for secondary heat sources at the courthouse. A wall mounted gas heater system will be installed in the first floor hallway. If this is successful, then installations will take place in offices, rest rooms and the court room.

The Nuckolls County Ag Society informed the board that it would hold a concert on July 29, the day after the fair concludes. An agent will book the act, provide security and do the advertising.

The board will meet again at 8:30 a.m., Monday, Feb. 6.
