They didn't miss school one bit

January 26, 2023

Last Wednesday, when it appeared school would probably be called off on Thursday, Kent and Katelyn Duffy invited their friends to gather at the Duffy farm near Guide Rock for a sledding party. ATV's were used to pull sled-type devices while others tried their sleds on the Duffy farm hills.

The youngsters occasionally got a face full of snow when rides didn't go as planned and unless things have changed since this writer was a boy, they probably went home with wet clothes. However, we expect they had a fun experience they will long remember and will be eager to do again.

One of the mothers commented about her children and said, they would have to learn to ride like their momma did when she was their age.

Several of the youngsters brought along goggles to keep the snow out of their eyes and cut down the sun's glare

Fun Snow Days: Cohen Flaata and Aaron Heusinkvelt built this igloo during the snow day school dismissal. After the igloo was complete, they roasted marshmallows and ate s'mores inside. Superior Public Schools dismissed classes Wednesday and Thursday because of the freezing rain, sleet and snow forecast. No school was scheduled for Friday on the regular calendar.
