RHHS girls split a pair

Lauren Whelchel, Rock Hills, becomes the first player in school history to have both 1,000 career points and 500 career rebounds. The Rock Hills High School girls basketball team downed Tescott, 45-25, at Mankato last Tuesday. The team lost to Wilson 48-39 at Wilson Friday. The Grizzlies played Sylvan-Lucas, at Sylvan Grove, Tuesday, with game results unavailable at press time.

Danica Frost scored 11 points against Tescott. Selena Luong hit for seven points. Halle Mizner and Hannah Simmelink scored six points each. Briana Simmelink added five points. Mizner nabbed five rebounds. Austyn Groote and Whelchel accounted for four rebounds apiece. Luong and Hannah Simmelink added three rebounds each. Briana Simmelink handled two rebounds.

Whelchel contributed 22 points for the Grizzlies against Wilson. Frost tallied 10 points.

Rock Hills hosts Lakeside at Mankato Friday. Natoma visits Mankato for a game Tuesday.
