Hebron Schools reopened Thursday after threat closure

Hebron Schools reopen

February 9, 2023

After being closed the first three days of last week, Thayer Central public schools at Hebron reopened on Thursday.

The schools were closed after officials learned a threat had been received on the prior Friday afternoon.

The Thayer County Sheriff’s Office requested the assistance of the Nebraska State Patrol in investigating the threat. With staff members and students not allowed on school property, the officers had the run of the property.

Officers report the threat came via social media from New Mexico and the Nebraska authorities are now working with their counterparts in New Mexico. It appears the threat was in no way associated with the school.

Thayer Central Schools are located along Eads Avenue in the northeast part of Hebron.
