L-N girls fall to silver at TVC tourney

The struggles continued for the Lawrence-Nelson girls team during their stint at the Twin Valley Conference Tournament.

They dropped their opening round game against Silver Lake, 37-26, at Deshler, last Tuesday. Their struggles continued with a 39-17 loss to Red Cloud, at Hastings College, Saturday. The Raiders played Harvard at Nelson Tuesday with game results unavailable at press time.

The Raiders have a 4-15 record.

Hanna Skinner hit for nine points against Silver Lake. Kara menke dropped through eight points. Addi McCloskey contributed four points. Jessica Sole scored three points. Josie Hajny added two points. Menke landed nine rebounds for the Raiders. Hajny and McCloskey provided three rebounds each. Skinner nailed down two rebounds. Emily Troudt had a rebound.

Menke hit for eight points against Red Cloud. Skinner came through with five points. Sydney Biltoft stepped in with four points. Menke jammed her way to six rebounds. Hajny and Sole contributed three rebounds each. Valentina Koehler and Skinner nabbed two rebounds each. McCloskey nailed down a rebound.

The Raiders close out their regular season schedule Friday when they visit Superior for game with the Wildcats. Sub-district play opens Monday or Tuesday, depending on the draws. The Raiders will be looking to make the trip to district finals as they finally get to play at their own level.
