Commissioners hear complaints about Randall Road

The Jewell County Commissioners met Feb. 13. Commissioners Brent Beck, Keith Roe, and Ed Duskie, were present. Carla Waugh, county clerk also attended the meeting.

The commissioners approved the memorandum of understanding with the 12th Judicial District for supervised visitation and child exchange Services.

Joel Elkins, general superintendent submitted bids for culverts. The commissioners approved the culvert bid from J&J Drainage Products Co for a total of $226,390.31.

Elkins had tire bids for the commissioners to review. A decision on the tire bid was tabled until the next week. Keith Roe said he was disgruntled with the numerous trips the road department had to make to the landfill hauling tree trimmings.

Ed Duskie asked about grading the Dispatch Road. He also asked about the Randall Road south of town and said he had complaints of holes by the bridge.

Rex Boley, USD 107 superintendent, discussed operations and the capital improvement plan.
