Roy Rempe

Roy William Rempe, the son of Leonard and Lorraine (Brockman) Rempe, was born on Oct. 24, 1952, in Superior, Nebraska. He died on March 2, 2023 at the CHI Health Immanuel at Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 70 years, 4 months, 6 days.

As a child, Roy attended the Valley Home Country School, graduated from Superior High School and attended Western Nebraska Technical College at Sidney, Nebraska, where he received his aircraft mechanics licenses and also obtained his private pilot's license, a continuation of the training he began in high school. He was a lifelong member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Superior.

Roy was employed by the Trans-Nebraska Airlines at Alliance, Nebraska, until the company closed its doors. He then worked in Casper, Wyoming, as an aviation mechanic and it is there that he received his commercial pilot's license. He worked as a charter pilot for a short time but realized that wasn't for him and began a job doing pipeline patrol. Being the youngest pilot on the company's largest route, he gained a lot of experience in a very short amount of time covering the Pacific Northwest and central states from Oregon and Washington to Illinois, Oklahoma and Texas and all the states in-between. He eventually got into crop dusting in Texas and returned to Nebraska working for Farmers Aerial Spraying near Cadams, Nebraska, and the Grove family. Eventually he started Roy's Aerial Spraying, later purchasing his own land to build an airstrip.

On Sept. 25, 1993, he was united in marriage to Patricia "Trish" Alexander at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lyons, Nebraska.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Lorraine Rempe; a brother, Eugene; and his parents-in-law, Wallace and Margaret Alexander.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia "Trish" of Superior; brothers, Ron (Arlene) and Jim (Melody) of Superior; and a sister, Jan (Ron) Williams of Hastings. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-laws, Jean (Ron) Burbridge, Peg Alexander, Cathi (Vince) Miner, Mary Lou (Phil) Noonan, Camilla (Albert) Dyke, Bill Alexander and John (Lucy) Alexander along with a host of many nieces, nephews and many friends.
