On Thursday, March 22, Jason Ortman, Mankato Chamber of Commerce president, presented a donation of $500 to Marlene Brown, president of the Mankato Garden Club. President Ortman also presented a check to the Jewell County Community Foundation for a donation of $9,894 towards the March Match Month. Receiving the donation were Jewell County Community Foundation board members Trevor Elkins, Brian Shulda, and the JCCF coordinator, Kyra Lampe. March is Match Month for the foundation. During this time, funds gifted to the Jewell County Community Foundation will be matched by the Dane G. Hansen Foundation 200 percent.

Mankato Chamber presented donations on Thursday, March 22. Mankato Chamber President Jason Ortman presented a $500 donation to Marlene Brown, President of the Mankato Garden Club.

The Mankato Chamber, with the help of its members, created a non-profit 501c3 entity to help raise funds for special events and projects. The entity was named Mankato Cares. These donated funds were raised during the Mankato 150th anniversary. The Mankato Cares board members voted to donate the remaining unused funds from the 150th Anniversary celebration to the Mankato Garden Club and Jewell County Community Foundation.
