Your newspaper has learned of the following special services being held this week, Lenten Week, in the area. There are probably more that we were not told about.

The Webber United Methodist Church will hold a Good Friday service at 6 p.m. A Maundy Thursday service is planned for the Scandia United Methodist Church at 7 p.m.

The Republic United Methodist Church will hold a sunrise service at 6:45 Sunday morning behind the community center. Breakfast will follow.

The Olive Hill Church will hold a sunrise service at 7 a.m. at the Brian and Jan Boyles home located on east side of Highway 14, about three miles south of Superior. Breakfast will follow at the church. The morning worship service will be held at 9:30.

The Ionia Church will hold a Maunday Thursday service at 7 p.m.

The North Branch Friends Church will have a Good Friday service at 6 p.m.

There will be a sunrise service at 7 a.m. on Underwood Hill near Burr Oak with a breakfast to follow at the Burr Oak Nazarene Church.

There will be a community sunrise service at Jewell’s Lake Emerson starting at 7 a.m. sponsored by the Jewell Christian Church. The Jewell Community Good Friday service will be at 7 p.m. at the Calvary church.

The services are open to all.
