The annual Easter Eggstravaganza at Lincoln Park in Superior was eggsistential! [existential]. Pastor Jon Albrecht from Living Faith Fellowship Church in Superior, participants of his church, and members from the community collaborated to present songs, prizes, mascots, the gospel, and a 6,000 egg hunt for youth of all ages.

Activities began with Catilyn Grashorn, 9, bravely singing a solo in front of the large crowd and later enthusiastically leading everyone in jumping and hand motions to the song "One Way Jesus" by Hillsong.

"Dr. Schnickelmagroover" told the story of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. He also showed the assembly an artifact he acquired from near Jesus' tomb in Israel and used large objects representing the crucifixion of the Easter event long ago, such as a spear and a crown of thorns. When selected youngsters answered questions pertaining to the items and the Bible story, they were able to choose a prize. A book titled Run and Tell about Jesus was given to the younger youth .

After prizes were awarded, voices of eager youngsters cheered on a rabbit coming toward them from the east across the park. It was not the well-known cartoon character Bugs Bunny with buckteeth and floppy ears but Superior's beloved fuzzy, yellow "Born Again Bunny." He and his friends gallantly made their entrance on ATV's. In addition to "Born Again Bunny" (James Bailey), there was "Betsy Bunny" (Patricia Honeycutt), "Grace the Bunny" (Grace Peterson), and "Rover Comer the Faith Dog" (Braden Hardin) who enthusiastically greeted everyone. These keen characters were much loved by the audience.

Dr. Schnickelmagroover astonished the youngsters by revealing his true identity. There were giggles as he removed his wig, multi-color glasses, and lab coat, and voila, Pastor Jon Albrecht was revealed. Pastor Albrecht read scriptures from the Bible in Matthew chapter 28. Then the faithful, Born Again Bunny and team assisted several youngsters, who had accepted the gospel message of Easter, to join together in a line in front of the crowd to pray together with his lead. Afterwards, the children ran off to the assigned areas for the egg hunt.

Adorned in a "princess skirt" of white tulle edged with color pompoms. Kalie Janzen (2), joined a host of children at the Living Faith Easter Eggstravaganza Saturday morning in Lincoln Park. She is the daughter of Tierney Casper and Nolon Janzen.

Youngsters five years and older could collect a generous 35 eggs each. In the toddler area, the lawn was decorated with little nests of shiny lime-green plastic Easter grass containing juice boxes, candy and stuffed animals.

It proved to be another great year at the Easter Eggstravaganza in Lincoln Park.
