Eva Wiley

Eva Berniece Wiley, 85, the daughter of Harold and Sylvia (Hyde) Mohler, was born May 25, 1937, at Formoso. She died April 6, at the Salina Regional Center.

Eva grew up in the Formoso community and received her formal education attending the Formoso schools, graduating with the class of 1955. She was united in marriage with Duane Wiley on Sept. 21, 1956. This union was blessed with three children, Barbara, Terry and Tracie. They lived at Hays for a time and then moved to Mankato, to make their home. Eva was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was employed most of her life working in food service. She worked at the local cafe and was the cook at the Mankato schools for many years. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Downs.

Eva dedicated her life to serving others through her work as a cook or her many various loving acts of kindness. In her leisure time she enjoyed crocheting, knitting, tatting and fancy work.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Duane; her parents, Harold and Sylvia Mohler; an infant brother, Harold; brothers, Virgil and Vernon; a sister, Mona Hoard; and great-granddaughter, Madelin Wiley.

Survivors are her children, Barbara Wiley of Camillo, Australia; Terry Wiley of Guide Rock; and Tracie Walter of Salina; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her funeral was Monday, April 10, at the Christian Church in Mankato, with the Rev. Thaddeus Hinkle and the Rev. David Hardy officiating. Interment was at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Mankato.
