SHS track

The Superior High School boys and girls track team members were split between two meets Thursday. One squad participated at the Del Wicks Invitational at Deshler while the other squad traveled to Syracuse for the Scott Nisely Invitational.

Superior was one of two Class C schools at the Syracuse meet along with Lewisville. The other schools at the event, Auburn, Beatrice, Crete, Fairbury, Falls City, Lincoln Christian, Nebraska City, Norris and Syracuse, were all Class B schools.

Team scores were unavailable. The first six places earn team points.

Ella Gardner took fourth place in the girls 100 meter final with her time of 12.69 seconds. Sadie Cornell ran a 13.66 second preliminary heat while Ariana Heusinkvelt ran a 13.68 heat.

Gardner was in third place in the 200 meter finals with her time of 26.76 seconds. Khloe Mundorf took sixth place with her time of 28.03 seconds. Sadie Rempel ran a 29.65 second preliminary heat.

Mundorf ran a 21.95 second 100 meter hurdle race for seventh place.

The 4 x 100 meter relay team of Rempel, Heusinkvelt, Mundorf and Cornell held down third place with their time of 53.17 seconds.

Heusinkvelt earned fourth place in the shot put with her toss of 36'10". Mia Gardner posted a toss of 30'2.75". Madison Heusinkvelt had a best toss of 26'11.25"

Atlee Kobza recorded a third place finish in the discus with her throw of 111'. M. Heusinkvelt had a best throw of 79'. M. Gardner had a best effort of 74'3".

Rempel landed a second place finish in the pole vault with her bar clearing effort of 10'2". E. Gardner snapped up the first place points in the long jump with her leap of 18'8.5". A. Heusinkvelt recorded a jump of 15'2". Cornell covered 14'.

James Love ran a preliminary heat of 11.91 seconds in the boys 100 meter dash. Jacob Meyer had a time of 12.34 seconds. Aiden Humphries posted a time of 12.65 seconds.

Aaron Allgood listed 25.53 seconds for a 200 meter preliminary heat. Love finished in 25.75 seconds. Humphries came in at 26.02 seconds.

Allgood finished the 400 meter dash in 1:00.39.

Love crossed the finish line of the 110 meter hurdles in fifth place with his time of 17.05 seconds. Humphries finished in 18.84 seconds.

The 4 x 100 meter relay team of Humphries, Meyer, Allgood and Love turned in a time of 48.49 seconds.

Henry Griljava had a best toss of 36' in the shot put. Dayne Clark had a toss of 31'4.5".

Clark had a best throw of 112'7" for the discus. Luke Jameson listed a throw of 106'. Griljava added a throw of 100'11".

Meyer covered 17'3.5' for the long jump. Allgood covered 16'7".

The Wildcats hosted the Superior Invitational Tuesday at the Wildcats Community track with meet results unavailable at press time.
