The first big event for the new chamber manager will be the Lady Vestey Victorian Festival. The festival event which draws the most people is the parade scheduled for 10:30 Saturday morning, May 27. Committee members are working hard to make sure this year’s parade will be larger than last year’s. Most all entries, including horses, floats, automobiles, trucks, farm machinery, boats, youngsters, bands and clowns, are welcome. Both the Nuckolls County Historical Society Museum and the Cowboy Corner Museum will be open. Tickets are now being sold for the Victorian Tea planned for Saturday afternoon at the Vestey Center.

Grill Games return Friday night at the Superior Country Club. The Market will be open in the Superior Auditorium during the day on Saturday and there will be a free dance in the auditorium that evening.

Brodstone Healthcare is sponsoring the Race to Remember to kick off Saturday morning activities. It is hoped the hospital addition will be finished and an open house held on Saturday.

There will be a worship service and a musical program Sunday in City Park.

For the youngsters, Rock Events will have carnival type activities on Commercial Street. The Superior FFA Chapter will again host a petting zoo on the Ideal Title Lawn. There will be various food options available.

In honor of the late Lew Hunter, the festival theme is “Reel to Reel Let the Good Times Roll.” Hunter was a screen writing teacher, Superior resident and former festival chairman. A number of his friends, family members and associates will be coming to Superior that weekend for a private memorial service honoring his memory.
