Large hail stones hammered Mankato

Tuesday morning the National Weather Service issued a severe thunder storm warning for Jewell County. Mid-morning large hail stones hammered Mankato. The adjacent pictures depict the size of some of the stones. Radar indicated hail driven by winds up to 79 miles per hour fell in some areas of Northern Kansas. Weather warning were issued for Osborne, Smith, Jewell and Mitchell counties.
