Faye Boller

A Celebration of Life for Faye C. Boller will be held at Melby Mortuary in Mankato, Kansas, from 3 to 5 p.m.,on Saturday, May 20.

Faye Carroll (Griffin) Boller died Nov. 1, 2022, at the age of 90. She was born Nov. 5, 1931, in Beloit, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Glen R. Griffin and Viola M. (Heeler) Griffin; her brother, Larry "Skip" Griffin; and a grandson, Justin Boller. She leaves behind a son, Rick Boller of Lebanon; daughter, Debra Bartholomew of Mankato; son, Mark Boller of Mankato; six grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Faye and her father, Glen, played for dances in her early years, Faye playing the piano and Glen playing the fiddle. Faye became a horse enthusiast, learning from her father who worked for ranchers in the area. Faye passed that love of horses and cattle on to her daughter, Deb, taking her to many horse shows and taking all of her children to cattle events. Faye was a beef leader in 4-H and her children excelled in 4-H with their animals.

Faye attended Beloit High School where she was a drum majorette and performed with the marching band. She graduated in May of 1949. Faye was united in marriage on Aug. 6, 1950, to Robert I. Boller. Together they purchased a farm in Limestone Township where they farmed and raised cattle. In 1956, they bought their first registered Angus cattle. They later built a tremendous herd, bringing genetics from Canada to improve their Angus breed. When their marriage failed, Faye continued to work the farm with the help of her sons and raised registered cattle. Faye received her 50 year award in 2006, from the Angus Association for raising registered Angus.

Faye loved the farm, her children, her dog and the cattle. She lived on the farm the rest of her life. When her health failed toward the end of her life, she still lived at the home with assistance from many, to enjoy her home and kitties.

Memorials are requested to the Faye Boller Memorial, and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
