Superior track team competes at Sutton

The Superior High School track and field teams competed at the Sutton Invitational Thursday.

The girls team finished in second place, with 135 points, in the six team field of Milford, Sutton, Heartland Community, Aurora and High Plains Community. The boys finished in fifth place with 38 points.

Aurora and Milford are Class B schools while High Plains Community is Class D. Superior, Sutton and Heartland are Class C.

Ella Gardner took the first place points in the girls 100 meter dash with her time of 12.85 seconds. Sadie Cornell was in third place with her time of seconds. 13.89 seconds. Halle Bargen picked up the fourth place points with her time of 14.13 seconds. Cayce Barry ran a preliminary heat in 16.42 seconds.

Sadie Rempel ran a preliminary heat in the 200 meter dash in 31.24 seconds.

Faith Butler held second place in the 400 meter dash with her time of 1:05.13.

Hailey Blecha was in third place in the 3299 meter run with her time of 15.44.56.

Khloe Mundorf earned second place points in the 100 meter hurdles with her time of 17.7 seconds.

Cora Schnakenberg recorded a fourth place finish in the 300 meter hurdles.

The 4 x 100 meter relay team of Bargen, Mundorf, Ariana Heusinkvelt and Cornell finished in first place with their time of 53.11 seconds.

The 4 x 400 meter relay team of Butler, Laci Kirchhoff, Schnakenberg and Bargen took third place with their time of 4:41,10.

A. Heusinkvelt was in second place in the shot put with her toss of 33'10". Madison Heusinkvelt was in third place with her toss of 33'3". Edwards had a best effort of 30'1.5". Tova Lestander had a toss of 22'1.5".

Atlee Kobza was in third place in the discus with her throw of 102'3". M. Heusinkvelt was in fourth place with her throw of 95'2". Mia Gardner had a throw of 82'4". Lestander listed a throw of 42'9".

Kirchhoff cleared 4'6" for fifth place in the high jump. Schnakenberg had a height of 4'2".

Sadie Rempel topped the pole vault list at 10'10". Butler was in sixth place with her height of 8'.

E, Gardner was in first place in the long jump covering 18'6". Cornell followed in second place with her jump of 14'11". A. Heusinkvelt covered 14'6" for a fourth place finish. Ava Kirchhoff had a leap of 14'5".

E. Gardner locked up first place in the triple jump with her combined distance of 31'7". A. Kirchhoff had a distance of 26'3".

James Love ran a preliminary heat of the 100 meter dash in 12.63 seconds. Dayne Clark listed a time of 13.22 seconds. Dylan Edwards finished with a time of 14.05 seconds.

Jacob Meyer had a time of 24,93 seconds for the 200 meter dash for eighth place in the final heat. Thomas Mathis ran a preliminary heat of 28.5 seconds.

Declan Miller had a time of 1:10.42 for the 400 meter dash. Mathis had a time of 1:10.45.

EJ Uvslokk had a time of 2:25.29 for the 800 meter dash. Tanner Theis had a time of 21:31.95.

Dereck Kirchhoff had a time of 6:47.21 for a fifth place finish in the 3200 meter run.

Love picked up second place points in the 110 meter hurdles with his time of 17.76 seconds. Kyler Boyles took fourth place with his time of 49.82 seconds.

Lincoln Sander finished in sixth place in the 300 meter hurdles with his time of 49.82 seconds.

The 4 x 100 meter relay team of Aaron Allgood, Meyer, Theis and Love finished in third place with their time of 47.51 seconds.

The 4 x 400 meter relay team of Boyles, Sander, Uvslokk and Allgood were in fifth place with their time of 4:04.85.

Sadie Cornell and Halle Bargen sprint to the finish line of the 100 meter dash for Superior at the Sutton Invite Thursday. Cornell was in third place while Bargen finished in fourth place.

Jameson held fifth place in the shot put with his toss of 39'6.75". Christian Osweiller had a best toss of 30'6".

Chris Chavez had a throw of 94'9" for the discus. Miller had a throw of 81'11".

Uvslokk nabbed fifth place in the high jump with his effort of 5'4".

Meyer was in first place in the pole vault with his bar clearing height of 11'.

Allgood was in sixth place in the long jump with his 18'4.25 jump. Sander had a distance of 17'11". Edwards covered 14'4".

Boyles was in fifth place in the triple jump with his combined distance of 32'1". mathis covered 31'11". Edwards covered 30'2".

Team members will vie for a place at the state meet when they compete at the District C-7 meet hosted by Thayer Central High School at Hebron. Other teams competing are Doniphan-Trumbull, Fillmore Central, Hastings St. Cecilia, Milford, Southern, Thayer Central, Sutton, Tri County and Wilber-Clatonia.
