Jewell County Commissioners met May 8

 


The Jewell County Commissioners met May 8. Commissioners Brent Beck, Keith Roe and Ed Duskie were present. Carla Waugh, county clerk, also attended the meeting.

Shannon Meier, ambulance director, reviewed the monthly billing and activity report. He reported that Jewell County EMS received grant money for a Lucas 3 Chest Compression Systems.

Cindy Becker, health nurse, requested an executive session to discuss non-elected personnel for 10 minutes with Cindy Becker and Carla Waugh present. Regular session resumed with no action taken. Cindy said they were refunded $24,000 for the COVID-19 nurse. She discussed various training. Cindy discussed repairs needed on one of the vehicles. She discussed providing blood draws for uninsured individuals.

Don Jacobs, sheriff, said that Officer Luedke and himself are going to the two-day jail conference. He discussed FBI CJIS Security Policy effective 12/07/2022 for radio communications.

Joel Elkins, general superintendent, discussed road and bridge maintenance. Joel had a settlement letter from the Northbranch fire. Brent Beck discussed repairing the Kemmerer bridge.

Alex Pierce, county attorney, discussed revising the burn ban resolution. She also discussed placing the ATM in the sheriff’s lobby. Keith Roe discussed the status of the tax sale.

Carla Waugh reviewed the auditor’s recommendations for transfers. She also discussed Cassie Thiessen’s request for assistance to remove the bushes by the memorial.
