Ramona Marie Holtzen of Davenport, the daughter of Hubert and Donna (Fangmeyer) Hoins was born April 10, 1958, in Hebron. She died Thursday at her home.
Ramona was baptized at St Paul’s Lutheran Church of Stoddard. She was confirmed at Western Douglas Church of St John’s Lutheran, Plainfield, Iowa, and graduated Plainfield High School with the Class of 1976.
Ramona married Dale Holtzen Nov. 6, 1981, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Friedensau. This union was blessed with the birth of two daughters.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedensau, where she was an active member; including church secretary and helping with Sunday school and youth group. She also enjoyed being involved with her daughters’ activities such as 4-H, softball and school. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, working in her yard, playing cards and time with family. She loved time with her grandchildren, especially playing games and cards with them.
Ramona is survived by her husband, Dale; daughters, Mrs. Tyler Foster (Jennifer) of Alliance, and Mrs. Daniel Shaw (Jessica) of Farmingdale, Maine; brothers, Kevin Hoins of Trumbull, Gerald Hoins of Hastings, Russell Hoins of Hawkeye, Iowa, and Gregg Hoins of Waterville, Iowa; and sister Mrs. Dave Sorenson (Joleen) of La Crosse, Wisconsin.
Ramona was preceded in death by her parents.
Her funeral was Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedensau. Officiant was Pastor Jose Flores.
Burial was in the church cemetery. Kroll Funeral Home of Deshler was in charge of arrangements.
