Deshler High School track at state meet

 

Jacilyne Peterson, a Deshler High School sophomore, cleared the pole vault bar at 8'6" in Nebraska State Track in Class D competition to finish in 10th place. Peterson also ran the girls 400 meter preliminaries in 1:05:03

The Deshler High School track and field team had three girls team members qualify for the state championship meet held at Omaha's Burke Stadium Friday and Saturday. More than 50 Class D school had competitors who qualified.

Tierra Schardt finished in sixth place in the high jump with a height of 4'10".

Jacilyne Peterson had a preliminary heat time of 1:05.03 in the 400 meter dash. She failed to advance to the final heat.

Peterson was in 10th place in the pole vault with a height of 8'6".

Brooke Sasse finished in 17th place in the shot put with her 34'4" effort.

The encouraging news is all the qualifiers are underclassmen who plan to return next season.
