Esbon Community Center received grants from the Jewell County Foundation and Dane Hansen Foundation to help replace old worn out kitchen cabinets at the community center. The expense was not entirely covered by the grants. Some funds received from Roger Underwood Memorial and Delilah Pate Memorial were used to complete the project.

On Memorial Day 2023, more than 150 people were served lunch at noon. What a difference it made in the kitchen! No longer were the sink and stove congested, making things go smoothly. Those volunteering in the kitchen were so appreciative of the new configuration! The community center is not tax supported, and it depends on the support it has received from grants, memorials and generous donations.
