Linda Coleen Wyatt

 

Linda Coleen Wyatt, 70 of Bayfield CO., formerly of Hardy, died unexpectedly May 7 prior to scheduled knee surgery at St. Lukes Hospital in Lakewood, Co. She was Born August 9, 1952, at Brodstone Memorial Hospital in Superior to John and Freda (Gray) Powell.

Linda attended Rosemound, (a one room country school) and Republic Grade School in Kansas; before transferring and graduating from Superior High School.

Linda moved to Bayfield in April, 1993 where she met the love of her life, Ross Martinez. They were married June 19, 1998, and were looking forward to celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary on June 19, 2023.

Lined liked the outdoor, fishing, hunting, riding their side by side ATV in the mountains and road trips, especially going back to visit her sister, Shirley, and families. She also enjoyed flowers, cooking, baking and watching a good movie with her husband, Ross.


Linda worked in Housekeeping at Mercy Hospital, Durango, Colorado. Later she transferred to the hospital pharmacy department. Linda received her certified licensed technologist certificate after many hours of classes and training in pharmacy. After semi-retirement, she provided in home caregiving, which Linda enjoyed immensely.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, David and Mary (Webb) Powell; Albert and Clista (Broth) Gray; aunts; uncles; cousins; extended relatives and friends.

Linda is survived by her husband, Ross Martinez; sister, Shirley (Roger) Powell Petersen; son Tony (Cindy) Jacoby; daughter, Tammy Espen-hover; two stepsons, Ross Anthony Martinez and Zack Martinez, one grandson, Jacoby Espenhover; five step grandchildren; two aunts, Tessie (Gary) Bartholomew; Alberta (Bert Gray) White; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and life long friends.


Honoring Linda's wishes, she has been cremated with a private memorial service being held at a later date. Linda had a heart of gold; will be miss and truly loved by her family and friends.
