(Editorʼs Note: We apologize as this report was inadvertently missed.)

The Lawrence-Nelson school history is not long in terms of years, but the 2023 L-N Golf Team saw to it that the history of the golfing teams improved, again.

The five man team made its trip to the Class D site in North Platte and came home with the 5th place honors for the year. Pender was #1 with a 36 hole total of 641; Overton was 2nd with 652; Loomis 3rd with 677; Humphrey St. Francis with 687: and the L/N Raiders a 5th with 694.

Neighboring Sandy Creek placed 9th with a score of 714.

The Raider team picked up quite a number of championship trophies for 2023. They did it with changes in the top golfer many of times throughout the year. A person just never knew who the top golfer might be in any given week.

The state championship event was no difference. Individual results were: Toby Kotinek 83-83=166; Krayton Kucera 89-83=172; Conner Janda 86-89=175; Jacob Kathman 101-84=185; Bayln Bargen 97-99=196.

?Jacob Kathman’s 17 stroke improvement was a highlight of the year for the young man.
