4-H Night concludes Nuckolls Co. Fair

Chase Ostdiek( left) won the beef average beef rate of gain at the Nuckolls County Fair. His market beef entry gained 5.16 pounds per day. Mia Gardner, the grand-daugther of Frank Jones, presented the Frank Jones Memorial Beef rate of gain to Ostdiek during 4-H Night activities, Sunday evening. Gardner was one of three high school seniors recognized for her long-time participation in 4-H.

Jenna Gilbert, Southern Plains Extension Educator, served as the mistress of ceremonies Sunday for the 4-H Awards Night.

Nathan Elledge and Chase Ostdiek, 4-H Ambassadors, led with Pledge of Allegiance and 4-H pledge.

Nuckolls County 4-H clubs and independent groups were recognized: Alban, Dry Creek, Farm Friends, Lucky Buckaroos, Oxbow, Rough Riders, Shooting Sports and 4-H Friends.

This year's Nuckolls County Ag Society officers are Dustin Cassell, president; Garrett Schroer, vice president; Caroline Himmelberg, secretary; Nicole Thayer, treasurer. Members are Cole Epley, Owen Grube, Shane K...
